What We Believe
Living Truth is a mission church of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Churches of the LCMS share a common confession of faith and teaching. We also are united in a common goal. For more information about this common confession and goal for ministry visit www.lcms.org.
We unashamedly believe, teach and live out the love of God: as Father, creator of all things; as Son, a.k.a. Jesus, who became a man to suffer, die and rise for the sins of the whole world; and as Holy Spirit, who works faith in the hearts of men and women still today through God's Word, Baptism, and Communion.
The Lutheran Church can be summed up best by the three phrases that actually caused the church body to be born:
Grace alone - this speaks primarily to the attitude of God toward us because of Jesus. God loves the people of the world, even though we often stray from the way he would prefer us to live. He sent his son Jesus to die, therefore taking our sins and nailing them to the cross. Now we have received God's Riches At Christ's Expense!
Faith alone - through the suffering and death of Jesus on our behalf, we now are recipients of God's forgiveness or pardon. This good news is offered freely to all who hear and believe it.
Scripture alone - All of the bible is God's Word. It has no errors and it was inspired by his spirit. The bible contains the law and the gospel of our new life in Christ. This is the only way we can discover God's will for our lives.
