Here's a little inside information before you join us...

This page will hopefully help you find your way with us a little easier. We all have questions about churches and what to expect when we get there - this page can be your "insiders' guide" to answer some of those frequently asked questions. Below you'll find some of the questions that we have found helpful to have answered before we showed up for the first time.

  • What should I wear? - some call it casual dress, while others call it dress casual. The long and short of it is, if you are clothed - jeans or dress clothes - you are more than welcome to join us.
  • Can I bring my children? - this is a cause of much stress for many parents - we all think that our children are the loudest or the worst. We absolutely love to have children in worship. We have even designed our worship so that every service has a child friendly learning element in it. Between our Sunday morning services is something we call Family Time - this is basically a time that we can help you teach your child about Jesus in a way that meets his or her learning style.
  • What about the music? - the music is what we call non-traditional. If you listen to the radio around Columbus, then you will find comparable music on stations like 104.9 or 91.5. The vast majority of our music is media driven using CDs or DVDs. We haven't been blessed with a music leadership team yet so for now - media will do.
  • Will I be able to follow along? - if you can read then you should be able to follow along. The entire service is projected onto two screens. There's no need to fumble through papers and books. If you have one, bring your bible and feel free to take notes on the relevant to life sermons.
  • Family is mentioned on the website, I'm not married - can I still come? - families come in all shapes and sizes. Some have families of 10 or 20 while others have families of one or two. All are welcome at Living Truth - married, single or divorced. The life-giving message of Jesus is not for just one group of people.
  • What is expected of ME? Will I have to do anything? - This is a common concern when going someplace new. Most people get a little anxious when they're going someplace for the first time. At LTM we try to eliminate some of that anxiety by expecting NOTHING from anyone. If you are more comfortable just sitting there and not saying/singing anything, then by all means that's fine! If however you love to sing, then join in with the songs and sing until your heart's content (or until the music stops).
  • Will I be welcomed? - That one's a little harder to answer. Of course we think you will be, but we don't know anything about you yet. The basic idea behind our ministry is that we want to get to know you, so we'll introduce ourselves and through conversation try to get to know you a little better. We'll do this without hovering. If you join us and you don't feel welcome or feel like we hovered over you, please let us know - we don't want to be either of those two.
  • Other questions - if you think of other questions that we haven't listed here, please email the church office and we'll try to answer to the best of our ability.
