What is a disciple?
Disciple is the new hot-button word in churches today. But what is it? What does it mean to be a disciple? And furthermore, how do I become one? If you've ever asked these types of questions, then this is the page for you! Below you'll find some resources that can be helpful in growing your personal walk with Christ.
Before you go much futher we should probably have some sort of working definition of a disciple. For our purposes, we'll say that a disciple is someone who is totally committed to the one they follow - in our case that would be Jesus! A disciple is so committed to following Jesus that this person is covered in the stuff of Jesus. There's an old Jewish saying that says, May you be covered in the dust of your rabbi. This simply is saying that disciples follow their teacher so closely, that they get caught in the dust that comes off their feet when they walk.
The question now is - Do you follow Jesus that closely? Do you get covered by the things that Jesus teaches and does everyday in your life?
